17 Powerful Scriptures On Wealth, Prosperity, And Success

How does wealth, prosperity, and success line up with scriptures in the Bible? Well the Bible is laced with scriptures about wealth, scriptures about prosperity and there are even scriptures about success!

Many people do not like to associate these words with being in the Bible. They don’t want to admit that it’s Biblical to be a successful Christian, or that God could in fact bring wealth and prosperity in your life. But these three promises are in the scriptures of the Bible.

“So, are you saying that God wants all Christians to be wealthy?”

This is a comment that was written on another article that I wrote concerning finances and what the Bible has to say about certain things.

And to be honest, I really didn’t know how to answer that question. I’m going to give you specific scriptures about prosperity, success and wealth and I will let you decide the answer to that question yourself.

Scriptures About Prosperity

Psalms 35:27 KJV ‘Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.’

This scripture alone lets you know that God wants you to live a life full of prosperity and disputes any thoughts that money is a bad thing to have.

The meaning of prosperity is successful in material terms; flourishing financially, bringing wealth and success.

A few synonyms of prosperity are thriving, successful, profitable, fruitful, growing, progressing.

It is not God’s will for you to get to this point in life and just stop and be at a standstill. His will for you is to continue moving forward.

• Job 22:21  –  “Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way, prosperity will come to you.”
• 2 Chronicles 26:5 “He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the LORD, God gave him success.”
• Proverbs 3:9-10 NKJV “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.”
  
• Proverbs 28:25 NLT “Greed causes fighting; trusting the LORD leads to prosperity.”
  
• Psalms 35:27 KJV“Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, ‘Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.’” 

Scriptures On Gaining Wealth

• Proverbs 11:24-25 NLT “Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”
• Luke 6:38 KJV “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
  
• Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
  
• Proverbs 13:22 AMP “A good man leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up.”
• Proverbs 28:20 “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.”

Scriptures On Financial Prosperity

• 2 Corinthians 9:6-15 AMP “[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings. Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving].And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].
  
  As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and benevolence will go on and endure forever! And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity].

Thus you will be enriched in all things and in every way, so that you can be generous, and [your generosity as it is] administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God.

For the service that the ministering of this fund renders does not only fully supply what is lacking to the saints (God’s people), but it also overflows in many [cries of] thanksgiving to God. Because at [your] standing of the test of this ministry, they will glorify God for your loyalty and obedience to the Gospel of Christ which you confess, as well as for your generous-hearted liberality to them and to all [the other needy ones].

And they yearn for you while they pray for you, because of the surpassing measure of God’s grace (His favor and mercy and spiritual blessing which is shown forth) in you.

Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]!”

Scriptures On Success

• Deuteronomy 30:9 NKJV “The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good. For the Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers.”
• Joshua 1:8-9 NKJV “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
  
• Proverbs 21:5 NLT “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity,  but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.”
• Proverbs 16:3 KJV “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”
• Psalms 37:4 KJV “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
• Jeremiah 29:11 NIV “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

God has given us direct scriptures on success. The Bible says in Matthew chapter 6 to ” But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Seek God first, and your success will follow.

Nehemiah (reference chapter 1) prayed and asked God “give your servant success today.” And God gave that man favor to do what he needed to do.

Secret Of Prosperity In The Bible

Is there a secret to prosperity and wealth?

I think we need to take a look at the verse that says “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.”

It says that men will give! 

It is God’s pleasure to give abundance in our lives when we respectfully and cheerfully obey and follow His commands. But if you are outside of His will, He cannot bless you.
